I was flipping through the channels just now when something caught my eye. Currently displayed on our local Government Access channel, and covering up all the content, is:

I must say, it’s pretty hilarious. I wonder how long it will take the person responsible for this to wake up and realize this.
Or at least that’s what some guy’s giant ass crack looked like when it was hanging out of his pants while he was scanning his items at Wal-Mart. Valerie says they looked like, “two giant watermelons, with most of the melons showing.”
Personally, I preferred the version in Arizona… by FAR.

11:28 am: There’s currently a light snow falling and about an inch of snow on the ground. Our grass is so tall that we’re the only “green” lawn in the neighborhood.
12:27 pm: I get the feeling Mother Nature is setting us up. How interesting that we just happen to be in the middle of where the storm is closing in on.

3:53 pm: It’s snowing again. Not quite “heavy,” but not quite “light” either. The snow is accumulating well on the grass and is beginning to accumulate on the roads. Most weathermen have reduced their projections to about 4-8 inches of total accumulation.
5:17 pm: It’s still snowing. Still not quite “heavy,” but it’s a constant snow. The entire ground, including the roads, is covered with snow. Well, all of it except for where that SUV just drove by and the few blades of grass still sticking through in our yard.
5:22 pm: Some guy just drove by on his lawn mower. He had a snow plow attachment on the front, but he didn’t have it lowered so it wasn’t doing anything. Makes me wonder if he was just out for a drive or if he just didn’t know how to use/lower it.
7:25 pm: It’s still snowing. The news said earlier that we had 3 inches of snow to that point and were expecting more. I can say without a doubt that there is at least 4 inches of snow sitting on top of the 4 inch wide railing that goes around our deck. I imagine that translates to about 5 inches or so on the ground. And it’s snowing like people usually think of the term “snowing.”
9:54 pm: Still snowing. It’s not quite as heavy as before, but it’s still snowing and accumulating. There’s now at least 6 inches sitting on top of the railing around our deck. I suppose that translates 7-8 inches elsewhere. I figure I’ll measure it in the morning.
10:28 am: Final measurement: 8 inches. Seems the predictions were actually correct this time!
This weekend looks to be a good test of The Rules of Five. The National Weather Service is predicting total snow accumulations of 4-8 inches, with “10 inches possible in the Central Shenandoah Valley and locations such as Charlottesville and Fredericksburg.”
That would be us, which is why we’re currently under a Heavy Snow Warning from 6 am tomorrow to 6 am Sunday.
Or so I’ve been told.
